Immortalize Your Pet in a Book
Preserve your pet's memory for all time by participating in research for the next book by Gay L Balliet entitled,
Memorializing Our Pets: How American Build Shrines to Their Animal Friends.
If your shrine fits one of the following categories for memorializing your passed pet, then you and your pet may be
considered for inclusion in the above manuscript:
- a simple, unpretentious gravesite
- a natural gravesite using materials such as wood, stone, water, plants)
- a gravesite that reflects the pet's favorite toys, places to rest or play, foods, habits or other activities.
- a gravesite constructed in a light-hearted, even comical, tone
- a gravesite constructed in an unusual or creative style
- a gravesite built with an artistic flair
- an elaborate or grand gravesite
- a gravesite constructed by children
- miscellaneous gravesites: a unique cremation urn, taxidermy, poetry, music or other artistic memorial, backyard
graveyard containing many pets, memory coves (nooks or rooms within a home containing memorabilia of the passed pet.
- cloning
- other memorials not mentioned above
Please fill out the following forms, attach your pet's photo and a photo of his or her gravesite or memorial.
These photos are not returnable, so please send copies, not originals. Author prefers hard copy of photos but will
accept emailed photos. At no time will these photos be shared with anyone other than the author and the publisher.
Feel free to copy this form and give to friends and relatives who would also like to participate in this research.
Please understand that the author cannot offer any compensation for using your material in her book. Your signature assures
that you will not ask for payment for the use of any of your ideas or photos or any information you provide to participate
in this project. Your compensation will be one free copy of the book if your material is used and published. An even
greater reward is the knowledge that your dear pet will stay alive through the publication of this book. However, book
publishing is a speculative business-an author is never guaranteed a publisher. All participants in this project must
realize that despite the best intentions and desires and those of the author, the manuscript may never find a publisher.
Provided information and photos will not be used in any other manner or for anything except this proposed manuscript.
